Week 6
Toby is heading home this week.  He'll have lots of help in his transition into his new home since his new brother is also a "parolee."  Toby will be heading home to live with his new family and Sammy, his big brother at the end of the week.  This little guy will be sorely missed by everyone at Camp Hill and we wish him the very best!!  Good luck, Toby!

Week 5
Toby continues to improve with each passing week.  He now visits his new dad's office several times a week and is getting nice and comfortable.  So much so that he now hops right up into his lap!  Toby has made incredible strides since starting the program and we can't get over how much he's been able to come out of his shell and enjoy being a dog again.   He is just a joy to be around and watching him thrive has made everyone around him feel the same pride that we do.  We're lucky to know him!

Week 4
Toby found a new friend this week in Honey.  He had a great time observing her in the dog yard and every time she would lay down for a rest, he would run over to her and lay down right next to her.  He also decided that despite her yelling, Sadie is a pretty fun playmate as well.  Toby is such a dear and everyone who meets him falls in love just about instantly.  He makes everyone smile.  Since his adoption is now carved in stone, he's been visiting his new dad at work.  Toby will be adopted by the same staff member that adopted Sammy and we're just thrilled for him.  He's been visiting his new dad's office a few times a week so he can get to know him before heading home.

Week 3
Toby continues to make great strides forward and gets a little braver with each new day.  He has almost completely overcome his fear of doorways and is much more comfortable going in and out of his crate.  He loves to play with his doggie friends and is always up for a game with his best pal Charlotte!

Week 2
Toby had a great week thanks to the help of his new friend Charlotte.  When she's around, Toby holds his head a little higher and gets a little braver.  This week he has started to approach people on his own for snuggles and treats.  He's become significantly more comfortable in his crate and no longer throws himself into it for fear of what might happen next.  He's still working on his fear of doorways, but that will come in time.  He's so adorable to watch when he's working the crowd of handlers to see which one has the best treats.  He loves to play with Charlotte and Anna Mae.  It's fantastic to see how quickly this boy is coming out of his shell and taking advantage of all of the kindnesses surrounding him.

Week 1
Toby's first week at the prison was full of new experiences...some fun and some scary.  He's very frightened of doorways of all sorts so he and his handler will be doing a lot of practice walking places this week.  There will be an endless supply of yummy treats to compensate Toby for all of his hard working facing all of these fears and that's sure to help him out a bit.  Toby also got a bath this week and LOVED it!!  He's very cautious when meeting new people, but always willing to give you the benefit of the doubt.  He's a sweet, sweet boy who has already won over much of the staff in and around the cell block.  This little guy is definitely going to break some hearts!
