Week 6
We get one more week to dote on dear Mr. Spencer. He has become such a
beloved member of our little prison family and he will leave quite an empty
space when he heads onto bigger and better things. Having Spencer
around is like having another gentleman in your midst. We rarely ever
think of him as a dog, as much as just another person engaged in whatever it
is we're talking about. He is a fabulous boy and his new family can't
wait to bring him home. He's working extra hard on his leash manners
in preparation for his big day. Way to go, Spencer!!

Week 5
Spencer is most definitely the gentleman of the pack. He even has a
gentleman's pose that he shows off when he's listening to the humans
chatter. He lays down on the floor, crosses his front paws and listens
intently! He is so sweet and he has really excelled at his training.
He is so bright, that we think there is going to be a lot of wonderful
things in store for Spencer in his new home!

Week 4
Spencer had another terrific week. This week, he's made huge strides
with his leash manners and has mastered the art of keeping all four paws on
the ground while his friends approach him...even though he knows that ear
scratches and back scratches are just a moment away. He is a handsome,
graceful dog who is wise beyond his years. He loves a good romp in the
doggie yard, but especially likes to be near his handlers. He is such
a people dog!!

Week 3
Spencer is just a doll! He absolutely adores people and can't get
enough of playing fetch with his favorite toy football. I guess he
just knows it's that time of year! Spencer is making great strides in
his training. His handler can't get over how smart this boy is and how
eager to please he is. The staff is all very fond of Spencer too.
No one can figure out why anyone would give this boy away. But, we
know he'll find the right home soon and get started with the rest of his
life! Paws crossed...

Week 2
Spencer learned "paw" this week and now he likes nothing more than to show
off every time he meets someone. The first thing he'll do when someone
approaches is sit, then it's on to shaking paws and then soaking up all of
the attention that usually follows! This week, his handler is focusing
on leash manners and walking nicely even when there are distractions going
on around him. Good luck, Spencer!

Week 1
Spencer had a great start to his "schooling." He has become quite a
ladies man in his first week and he really seems to be a magnet to anyone
who passes by. He already has a favorite game to play in the big
doggie yard. He loves to play fetch and catch. Any ball will do
and he loves to bring them back to you and start the game all over again.
His handler has also discovered that he likes to play this game indoors as
well!

UPDATE - October 11th
Spencer started school today! He's a handsome,
smooth coated collie/akita mix with a heart of gold!
