Week 8
Well, Reggie had a very lucky week.  He found a family who adores him and he'll even have a big sister (of the chocolate lab variety).  Reggie is headed out on parole and we wish him and his new family the very best as they start their new life together!

Week 7
Reggie loves the snow!  It was a little too deep for him this time which he learned the first time he tried to run through it, but that didn't stop him from having an absolute blast!  Reggie just loves to be outside.  Lately, whenever his handler puts on his shoes and coat, Reggie immediately goes over and gets his leash.  Who wouldn't want to take this little sweetheart along everywhere?

Week 6
Reggie has found a big brother in the new kid, Diesel.  They love to play together and Reggie just thinks he is the greatest!  Reggie and his handler have been working on boundaries this week.  He's learning to tell the difference between what he is allowed to have and what is off limits.  So far so good!  Reggie also has a new routine that keeps his handler giggling.  Every morning, Reggie hops up onto the top bunk and looks out the window to see if the other dogs are out playing.  If they are, he goes and gets his leash, brings it back to his sleeping handler and licks his face until he gives in and takes Reggie out for playtime with the other pups.  What a boy!

Week 5
Reggie has become his handler's very best friend.  Reggie listens to him when he sings and loves to watch television with him at night.  Reggie likes to sit at the window and when he sees one of the other dogs out in the yard, he lets his handler know that they should go out and join the fun!  The other day, Reggie's handler brought him some turkey for a special training treat.  Now, Reggie checks his pockets every day when he gets home from work to see if there's anything special that came along!  They just don't come any sweeter than Sir Reggie.  He always has a wagging tail and plenty of doggie kisses for everyone he sees.  Anyone would be lucky to call this boy a part of their family!

Week 4
Reggie, or Sir Reggie as he is now called, has had another terrific week.  He and Fortune had a ball playing in the mud.  He wasn't so thrilled to find out that he would be the first one to test out the new doggie bathtub, but he took it in stride.  He sleeps at the end of his handler's bed at night when they're watching television and then usually heads into his crate after this last potty break of the night.  But, this week was a little different.  The first two parts were the same, but when they came back to the cell and Reggie was asked to go into his crate, he decided he would prefer to sleep with his handler.  So, Reggie carefully pulled all of  the bedding out of his crate and laid it neatly on the floor at the foot of the bed, curled up and went right to sleep.  His handler said he tried to give the command again, but it was pretty ineffective given how hard he was laughing.  What a boy!!

Week 3
Reggie has become the team mom this week.  Whenever the dogs are out playing together in the big, doggie yard, Reggie becomes the referee.  When he feels the other dogs are getting too rough with each other, he likes to run over and "break it up."  Of course, he also loves to play with everyone as well.  Reggie learned to crawl this week and loves to show off his tricks to the officers on the block and the other handlers.  This little boy barely needs much training.  He came to us as sweet as can be and is ready as can be to make someone a wonderful companion!!

Week 2
No one is immune to the power of Reggie!!  It's become a running joke that no one can walk past him without stopping for a quick visit.  Maybe it's the wagging tail or those big, brown eyes.  Or, maybe it's that fact that he is quite possibly the sweetest dog on earth!  Reggie has such a great personality and everyone loves him.  He's doing very, very well in his training classes and always manages to have plenty of fun in his free time.  Anyone would be lucky to call this dog their friend!!

Week 1
Everyone gets a nickname in the prison program and Reggie is no exception.  His handler absolutely adores him and they've all taken to calling him the little chocolate bar because of his coloring and how incredibly sweet he is!  Reggie always has an abundance of kisses and loves to greet everyone who passes by.  He is fast becoming a favorite at the prison because of his winning personality.  This little boy would make a fantastic addition to any home.  Does he sound like he could be your valentine?
