NEW UPDATE - 11/5/06
Midnight gets a gold star for all of the progress he made this week.  He is working very hard on overcoming his wariness of strangers.  We took several field trips over to the campus of Dickinson College and walked among the college students and staff.  He keeps getting better and better.  Today, we eve went up to a few people and Midnight was happy to accept treats and snuggles from each one...a young boy, an elderly woman in a wheelchair and big man with a leaf blower.  Way to go Midnight!!!!

NEW UPDATE - 10/27/06
Midnight has worked so hard on relearning his training over the last week or so that we decided it was time to test his skills.  Midnight went on two "field trips" this week.  He took a lovely stroll through a neighborhood and was an almost perfect gentleman on the leash.  He was very interested in the first squirrel that darted across his path, but did much better with the next ones.  He is learning to sit and wait at each corner until he is told that it is safe to cross.  He likes to greet passers-by, but then likes to continue on his way.  He is a wonderful passenger in the car, too!  All Midnight needs is a person with patience, love and a commitment to consistency in his training.  Remember, all HOPE adopters have the support of our trainer to help them through the transition and overcome any issues or training questions that may come up along the way.  We're here to help!

NEW UPDATE - 10/21/06
Our sweet boy Midnight has had another sad disappointment and is now living at a wonderful kennel while he patiently waits for his forever home.  At nearly two years old, this boy has had a short, but difficult life and deserves a home of his very own where he can always feel wanted, safe, loved and special.  Midnight is one of the sweetest, loyal and loving dogs we have ever had the pleasure to know.  He is such a terrific dog and the right home for him is out there somewhere.  Is it you?

Midnight is doing extremely well with his leash walking which was something he always struggled with during his classes.  He is very motivated by food which makes him exceptionally easy to train.  Plus, he's as handsome as they come and who could resist those big, sloppy kisses that he loves to give!    He is good with just about everyone, although we wouldn't recommend him for a home with small children.  Midnight is a big sweetheart, but somewhat unaware of his size and a bit on the clumsy side. We have a few more training sessions planned and then Midnight will be back out on the town visiting lots of different places.  He would love to meet you so please get in touch if Midnight sounds like a good match for you.
