Week 8
Matty is just as sweet as they come. He had a little playtime accident
this week which resulted in some stitches on his ear. He was the
perfect patient! He let his handlers clean the wound, wrap it up and
then was happy to accept all of the extra snuggles and hugs from everyone
who happened to pass by and see his bandage. He was a doll at the vet
and won the hearts of everyone there. Who would have thought that the
scared little dog who started the program eight weeks ago would be so
confident, well-mannered and easy going now. We're all so proud of him
and owe a huge debt to his inmate handlers. They have helped this
sweet boy in so many ways and he will have a a wonderful because of their
patience and understanding.

Week 7
Matty continues to wow everyone. He is the sweetest little dog.
Of course, his head probably won't fit out the door of the prison by the
time he leaves because everyone tells him that. And I mean EVERYONE!!
There's no one left who hasn't fallen under the spell of the adorable Matty!

Week 6
Matty has surpassed everyone's expectations. He has made so much
progress in the short time he has been with us and we can't tell him enough
how very proud we are of him. He has made a few doggie friends and
continues to improve in that department. He has also made friends with
EVERY, yes EVERY person he has ever met at the prison. His handler
makes him practice his patience and focus every chance they get and the
results are truly amazing. Way to go, Matty!!

Week 5
Matty is learning the "watch me" command this week. His handlers are
trying to build up his attention span and help him increase his ability to
focus. So far, so good! He's working hard on his leash manners,
but that's proving to be one of his toughest challenges. But, Matty
has some very patient handlers and they're taking it one day at a time and
helping him get better and better with each passing day.

Week 4
This week, Matty is working on following directions when there are
distractions around him like other people and other dogs. When Matty
is relaxed, he is an ace student. But, when there are other exciting
things happening nearby, he gets easily distracted so his handlers will be
building up his focus and self-control so that he can follow directions all

Week 3
Matty made a friend this week! He and Spencer hit it off right away
and Spencer may be just what this little guy needs to help him find his way
back to enjoying being a dog again. Matty is so afraid, but you can
see in his eyes that he's always trying to be brave. It's easy to see
that he wants to play with the pack, he just doesn't yet have the
confidence. Matty has quite a taste for fruit! He loves apples
and oranges...and peanut butter too!

Week 2
So far so good for sweet, little Matty! He is definitely jumping less
with each passing day and pretty soon his manners will be in tip-top shape.
He has already learned several new commands and his handlers have learned
just how much this little sweetheart loves to have his belly rubbed!
Matty is such a social little guy. He is an attention sponge and soaks
it up wherever he can find it! And, as cute as he is...he usually
doesn't have any trouble finding someone to give him a quick scratch or
belly rub!

Week 1
Matty has had a super fun first week of "school." He has run and
played, run and played, rested, run and played, run and played and run and
played some more! This little boy had so much energy to burn we
thought he might never run out. Now, it's time for business.
This week, Matty will be working on greeting his new friends without jumping
up on them. This will be the first step in his manners training and
we're all keeping our fingers crossed that he gets off to a great start!

UPDATE
Matty will be getting started on October 1st. He is sure to be a
favorite in the program. Stay tuned to see all of his adventures as he
works his way through his classes. Matty is available for adoption

Sea Animal Rescue. We can't wait for him to get started!!
