Week 7
Mandi’s handler says that she continues to improve with her skills, and is
ready for her new family. Mandi loves to run and play and she still hops
around like Tigger! Her recalls and stays are improving as well. Her
handler will really miss this sweet pup, but he says that all Mandi needs is
love. She can’t wait to play with her 4-year old sister and her 10-year old
brother. She will be a great addition to her family and we know that she'll
receive a lot of love from them.

Week 6
Mandi had another fun week at the jail. Her handler says she knows
that she isn't allowed on the bed, but she hops up anyway as soon as he
leaves. Once she hears him coming back, she hops off and sits next to
the bed with the most innocent face you could imagine. Good thing
she'll have full rights to the couches and beds in her new home!!

Week 5
Mandi had a super fun this week...even with the bath! When her handler
took her out to the dog yard for an "air dry" she decided to make a game out
of it. She would run off and roll in the grass until her handler
chased her down and then she would hop up like Tigger and run off again.
Her handler took it all in stride and said it gave him quite a few laughs.
Mandi still loves to meet new people, old friends and pretty much anyone who
wants to give her a pt and a snuggle. She'll be right at home with her
new family!

Week 4
Mandi and her handler had great fun this week. She “is really coming
along great. Mandi is very smart, and learns quickly!” Mandi enjoyed taking
a jog with her handler…running, jumping and hopping along the way. One of
the other handlers said that she reminded him of Winnie the Pooh’s pal
Tigger! Miss Mandi is very sociable with the all of other handlers and the
other dogs. Her “with me” and “loose leash” walking commands are excellent,
and she is “super on ‘stay’.”
Mandi’s handler does have one caution for anyone considering adopting her.
She kicks her back legs out after she goes potty, so “don’t stand behind her
or you’ll get covered with grass.” Mandy loves gentle touches. “You pet her
and she will love you forever!” This little girl also loves peanut butter
and string cheese. Of course, what she would love most is a family to call
her own. Her handler says that Mandi “is going to make a great addition to a
lucky family.” HOPE-fully you will find one soon, little girl!

Week 3
Mandi is improving in her studies as she continues to learn about life in
the big house. Sometimes, Mandi gets distracted with all of the hustle and
bustle of the noises around her, but she's doing really well with her
recalls and basic commands! She is also doing a mighty fine job of obeying
her handlers' "with me" training while on a loose leash. Yes, sometimes
Mandi still pulls a little, but her handlers are continuing to work with
her, and know that she'll have the command down-pat in no time! Mandi shows
her personality when she's able to play, run and jump! A little fun is
definitely deserved for this hard-working little girl! After just
three weeks in the program, Mandi was given a furlough to attend the Mutt
Mixer event in Lancaster over the weekend. Although she stayed close to one
of the HOPE volunteers when she first got there, in no time she just
blossomed and was a wonderful little ambassador to our program! She loved
meeting the other dogs at the event, having her ears scratched by lots of
people and learning the joys of a hot dog treat! She also did great with her
"sit" and "with me" commands! This little puppy mill rescue is a charmer!
Many thanks to her handlers for bringing her so far in such as short time!
Something that potential adopters should know about Mandi is that she thinks
she's a lap dog! Are you willing to give Mandi all of the snuggles she
loves? If so, please put in an application for this sweetheart of a gal!

Week 2
Mandi's handlers worked on her "with me" and "stay" commands this week. It
didn't take Mandi long at all to adjust to the doggie yard! She LOVES the
outdoors, and her handlers say that she trains much better while outside!
Inside training is still taking some work, but Mandi's handlers make sure
she gets plenty of exercise by walking her for at least two hours around the
block! Mandi investigates every noise that she hears, and every person who
she thinks will give her a pet! Mandi loves to cuddle and craves attention.
Her handlers find her very loveable. With a cute face like Mandi's, who
could resist her? Her handlers can't, and they HOPE that someone is watching
Mandi's story as she progresses through the program so that she can find the
forever home she so deserves.

Week
1
Mandi came into the program not knowing any commands and very few social
skills due to her long stint in a puppy mill. After one week, our little
newcomer will "sit," "lay down," "give paw," and "roll-over." She is still
learning "with-me" while on-leash because she gets somewhat distracted, but
she's improving daily! Wow, what a big week for this pup! Next week, Mandi's
homework assignments will be "leave it" and "stay," as well as reinforcing
the commands she has already learned.
Mandi is very people-oriented, and basks in all of the loving, pets and
attention she's getting from her new human friends. She also can't wait to
go out to the doggie yard to run and play with all of her new canine
friends! After just a short time, her handlers feel that she will make a
"great family pet." Not only is Mandi housebroken, her handlers are
pleasantly surprised at the progress that she's made in such a short time.
Mandi, you go girl!
