Week 9
Jet had another great week and his rescue decided that it was time to start
showing him off some more. So, Jet has officially finished his
training and is back in foster care with
Canine Rescue of Central PA.
Stay tuned for any updates that they send along to us. In the
meantime, Jet is 100% ready for adoption! He's an energetic, one year
old who is great with other dogs, loves people and with continued training
will make a great addition to any family! Maybe yours????

Week 8
Jet had a great week! He had a breakthrough in the play yard and can
now successfully break away from play when he's being called by his handler!
This is a really big deal for Jet. He loves nothing more than goofing
around with the other dogs and getting him to pay attention during his
favorite activity indicates a great deal of progress for the youngest of our
bunch! Way to go, Jet!!

Week 7
Jet has made peace with the gentle leader and now walks like a perfect
gentleman on the leash. His recall skills have improved significantly
this week and his handlers report that he'll even break off from playtime
when he's called! Jet is such an awesome dog and tends to bring out
the best in the other dogs who chare the prison with him. He's young
and full of energy, but has really come a long way with his manners and
learning how to be a good canine citizen. He would do well just about
anywhere and should be ready to head into a new home in just a couple more
weeks. Will it be your home?

Week 6
Jet is an absolute gem! This week, he worked hard again on learning
all of his obedience skills and he's having terrific success. He also
took Sarge under his wing and decided to try to show him that dogs make
great pals if you give them the chance. After a few days of "baby
steps," Jet and Sarge were playing together off-leash on the doggie yard.
Leave it to Jet, with his sweet and playful nature to bring out the best in
absolutely everyone!

Week 5
Jet started using a gentle leader this week and has really had some great
results. He walks so nicely on the leash now and he doesn't generally
mind wearing it. He and Zaydee went on a field trip over the weekend
to Borders for a Meet & Greet. Jet was so excited to meet all of the
people and show off his new tricks. He completely wore himself out and
as soon as he got back in the car he fell asleep on the front seat. He
has such a sweet, funny nature and his zest for life is contagious to
everyone around him. It's impossible to be grouchy around Jet!

Week 4
Jet spent the week working on his leash manners and his recall skills.
His recalls are coming along nicely and are solid when he's by himself.
When other dogs are around he's usually more focused on the game at hand
rather than on his schoolwork, but you just have to love Jet regardless.
He is such a ball of happy energy that it's hard not to want to be as happy
as he is whenever you're around him. He needs a few more
weeks of school, but then he'll be all set to become some lucky person's new
best friend. Do you have a soft spot for Jet?

Week 3
Jet has found his passion...tricks! He loves to learn new things so
his handlers have dug out the trick book from the library and started to get
down to business. Tricks help all dogs learn focus, concentration,
balance and lots more. Jet has already learned to shake, roll-over and
pray! He loves it! His leash manners are improving slowly.
With patience and consistency his handlers are certain they'll be able to
help him figure things out. Jet is such a fun boy. It's hard not
to be happy just being around him. He's a big, goofy pup who can't
help but be excited all the time. We should all be so happy!

Week 2
Jet is learning so much and we can't get over how bright this boy is.
He's learning the basics like all of the other dogs including sit, stay,
wait and walking nicely on a leash. But, he's also learning how to be
a more respectable member of the pack. He's really learning to gauge
his strength and his handlers report that he has improved by leaps and
bounds in that area. He now waits for his treats and when they're
offered, he takes them gently from your hand. This may seem small, but
Jet had not one manner to speak of when he came to the prison so all of
these little accomplishments are really adding up into a very wonderful dog!
Jet had a ball rolling around in the fresh snow and he also likes to wrestle
with his new friend Blue. Jet's homework this week is walking nicely
on a leash. He tends to pull right away, but his handlers say that
after a few trips back to the starting point, he catches on and walks like a
gentleman...until he sees the doggie yard and then all bets are off.
After all, he's just a pup still. Good luck this week, Jet!!

Week 1
Jet has made quite an impression in his first few days. He had a
reputation for being a bit of a wildman...after all he's just barely one
year old. As it turns out, Jet is quite smart and very much a people
pleaser. He has already learned that all four paws belong on the
ground when meeting new friends and that there is a lot of petting to be
obtained by showing off your newly learned tricks! Keep your eye on
this boy. He's handsome, sweet, playful and a wonderful, loving boy.

UPDATE - FEBRUARY 2
Jet is a fun loving dog who is 100% boy. He's just about one year old
and a handsome black lab mix who weighs in at about 50 pounds or so.
He's full of energy and really, really friendly. Stay tuned to read about all of his adventures.
