Week 6
Izzie is ready!!  She's ready and patiently waiting for a home of her own.  This little girl has spent so much time waiting and watching everyone around her get chosen to be adopted...it's definitely her turn!  She's a great family dog and has yet to meet anyone she wouldn't be perfectly happy to love for years to come.  Now she just needs someone to see the wonderful, sweet, well-mannered dog that we've all come to know and love.  Won't you consider opening your home and heart to this sweet girl?

Week 5
Izzie hit the training books very hard this week.  Her handlers took a few days off from their regular jobs to spend some extra time working with Izzie and boy did it have an effect.  Izzie has become a model student this week and is thoroughly enjoying showing off her newfound confidence to everyone she bumps into.  She now dazzles everyone with her grasp on her basic obedience skills.  Top that off with her glowing personality and she's irresistible!!

Week 4
Wow!  Izzie's obedience skills are getting gold stars this week.  Her handlers have been working extra hard on her "stay" and "with me," as well as distraction training.   She had a bath this week and loved every minute of it...all that attention, no doubt!  Keep up the good work, Izzie!

Week 3
Izzie loves the snow!!  She romped and played to heart's content rolling around in it until she wore herself out.  Then, she and her handlers came back inside and settled in for a nice, warm nap after drying her off.  Izzie is truly a people lover.  She likes most other dogs too, but people are her true love.  She's always ready and willing to dole out endless kisses and her tail will show you that she's always happy to see you come home!

Week 2
Izzie found a new job this week...being Luke's personal trainer!  Her buddy Luke was placed on a more stringent diet and exercise plan, but Izzie won't leave him out on his own.  She makes sure that he runs and plays and runs and plays and then runs and plays some more.  What a big helper she is!  We also learned that Izzie has a favorite color.  She always chooses the yellow ball when she wants to play a game of fetch out in the doggie yard.  Her handlers tried out some different balls with her this week, but she always comes back to the yellow one!

Week 1
Izzie is off to a great start.  She and Molly became fast friends and she continues to make friends with each of the other dogs on the block.  Although, I think her favorite has to be Elroy.  The two of them are like two peas in a pod!  Izzie's handlers are working hard this week to help her learn that toys are going to be a regular part of life from now on so there's no need to get possessive over them.  Izzie learned the joys of toys when she first arrived at the prison and she hasn't quite figured out that from now on, she will always be a little bit spoiled!  She's becoming a fast favorite of the staff on the block as well.  She's never stingy with her kisses and never misses an opportunity to get petted!!!

UPDATE
Izzie started school this week.  She has spent such a long time in the shelter and the staff and volunteers there were just thrilled to see her get a fresh start.  Everyone has their fingers crossed that this will be just what Izzie needs to help her find her forever home.  Stay tuned to see how she did in her first week!  Izzie is available for adoption through Huntingdon County Humane Society.
