Week 8
Ike left the walls of CSI-Camp Hill to his forever home on Friday! We know
that he’ll love his new home as much as his new parents love him! Your

Week
7
“Ike has completed his first 6 weeks of training with flying colors, and
remains an interested pupil. We are still focusing on his self-control with
stays and sitting for greetings, but he is a loyal, loving and affectionate
dog who is in need of a good home. He loves his play time, but is just as
content sleeping while curled up very closely next to you. Overall, he is a
great dog who merely needs someone to love and who will love him in return.”
HOPEfully, you’ll find your someone soon, sweet Ike!

Weeks
5 & 6
His handler reports that Ike’s training “remains consistent, and he
continues to be interested and a more than willing participant. We are
practicing ‘stays,’ as well as his sitting for greetings. He also has
learned two different vocalization skills. One is ‘ask’, and the other is
‘speak.’ He picks up on new things quickly and is always eager to please, or
earn cheese!!” Ike “loves meeting new people, and befriends them all.” He
certainly proved that at Animal Rescue Inc.’s Dog Days in the Park last
Saturday! This was Ike’s first time to be our ambassador at an event, and he
did well, overall. There were so many dogs to engage in play and people to
have pet him (including elementary school-aged children). He was “all boy”
and loved showing off his “ask” command. It was cute to see, and we’re sure
that his handler was happy that he did so well on his first “official”
outing. Ike, admittedly still needs some work, but he’s going to be just
fine! His handler describes him as “a loyal companion and affectionate
friend. He loves to lay very close to you and nap. There is nothing Ike
desires more than giving and receiving affection from his human.” HOPEfully,
there is a human out there willing to give you that attention forever, Ike!
Keep being you!

Week 4
Ike’s handler reports this week that although he’s not where he should be in
his training, “he’s on the way there.” As for all of the strangers on the
block, his handler says that “he is more than friendly and takes up with new
people right away. This week, Ike was his usual big, fun loving self. He
simply needs a good home and human so that he can become the loving
life-long companion he is meant to be.” We hope that your handler gets his
wish for a forever home for you soon, sweet boy!

Week 3
Ike’s handler reports that his training continues to move along nicely! “He
is a highly active dog who needs a lot of exercise and mental stimulation,
but with plenty of both, he is a great trainee and friend.” Ike also
“accepts grooming and having his ears cleaned readily. Having his teeth
brushed isn’t very pleasant for him at present, but we are trying to make it
a more enjoyable experience for both of us.” We know that each week brings
new challenges, Ike. You’re doing great, sweet pup, and you’re on the road
to your forever home!

Week 2
“Ike has adjusted to his new surroundings, and is making new friends. He
loves to meet and play with new people.” His handler reports that Ike is
“progressing nicely with his training. He can sit, give paw, go down, and
speak.” Ike’s still working on his heel and stay commands, but we know that
he’ll master those as well! His handler reports that this pup is still an
energetic dog, which sometimes makes him “a handful to train, but he’s very
treat motivated, and training during play time works very well too.” When
Ike is in his cell with his handler, “he wants to be close. There is no
where he would rather be than laying close to me. As big as he is, he thinks
he is a lap dog.” Ike, we know you’ll find a forever lap to lie in, little
boy!

Week 1
Ike’s handler reports that he “has done very well his first week here. He is
very energetic, so training can be a challenge at times, but he does respond
well to it.” As some of the other handlers have reported, Ike is a favorite
among his pack mates. Maggie especially has taken a shine to him. His
handler reports that sometimes this pup can be a bit rough when romping with
his pals, so he’s learning play “etiquette with the other dogs. He has been
checked by a couple of them and responded appropriately by discontinuing the
behavior.” We’re sure that you’ll learn how to be a polite playmate, with
your handler’s guidance, Ike! After just a week, this pup’s cellie reports
that “he is a big puppy at heart and is as cuddly as a teddy bear.” We’re
rooting for you, Ike!
