Domino

Week 10
Domino enjoyed another week of fun, games, training and of course....chasing
groundhogs! But, with his training nearing an end, his rescue wanted
to be able to show him off at some of their upcoming events. With that
in mind, Domino has officially finished his
training and is back in foster care with
Canine Rescue of Central PA.
Stay tuned for any updates that they send along to us. In the
meantime, Domino is 100% ready for adoption! He's an playful, one and
a half year
old who is good with most other dogs, adores people, loves to hunt and with continued training
will make a great addition to any family! We will certainly miss this
boy. We hope he finds a home of his own very, very soon. Good

Week 9
Domino is heading out on the town this weekend! He'll be at Borders in
Camp Hill this Saturday from 11-2 for a Meet & Greet. We hope you'll
come out and meet this fabulous boy. He is an absolutely wonderful dog
who has waited a long time for a home of his own. We're all keeping
our paws crossed that he finds that home while he's out and about.

Week 8
Two months and no home for Domino? We're stunned! We thought
he'd be off and running in a new home before we could blink. Domino is
an awesome dog! He loves to play, but is very well-mannered inside.
He has hunting instincts that are unmatched by any of the other "kids" at
the jail. He's not so great on the leash, but with a little practice
and some patience we're sure he'll figure out. He is incredibly smart
and oh so handsome. He adores people and loves the company of other
dogs. Now he just needs you!

Week 7
Domino was a little down in the dumps this week. He really misses his
buddy Butch and is a little bummed out that he hasn't found a home of his
own yet. But, his handlers have been treating him to lots of canine
massages which they received training in a few months ago and that has
really seemed to help. Domino's just ready to be done with this part
of his life and move on to having a family to call his own. Sadly,
sometimes they reach that point before we're able to find a good match for
them so it's up to everyone to work together to keep his spirits up until
the day comes when he heads out on "parole" to start his new life.

Week 6
Domino is really doing well and definitely has the green light to go home as
soon as a home finds him. He is an obedience star and friend to
everyone, two and four legs! They just don't make them any nicer than
Domino. He's become quite fond of chasing the maintenance vehicles
while he's in the doggie yard, but his handlers are just using that as one
more way to strengthen his recall skills. Domino is a hunter by nature
so chasing things is just part of who he is. Add some fantastic
training to that and you have a wonderful dog who's ready for anything!

Week 5
Domino's handlers are running out of things to teach him. But, they
have no shortage of nice things to say about him. They report that he
is fabulous with the other dogs and a star in his obedience classes.
They say that he loves to look up into the sky and chase seagulls and
helicopters. Domino also is very interested in the old, gray cat that
lives outside, but he's even getting better at "leaving it" alone! You
couldn't ask for a nicer boy than Domino and all he needs now is a chance to
start fresh and have a family to call his own!

Week 4
Domino loves to play! He likes soft toys the best and loves to play
tug and fetch. He is a favorite among everyone involved with the HOPE
Program and is sure to squirm his way into the heart of someone on the
outside. He's doing great with his training. His leash manners
improve every day, but all bets are off if a bird or other small creature
catches his eye. It's just in his nature to want to chase things and
we think it makes him all the more lovable! He did great with his
classes this week, even though there wasn't a lot of romping around time due
to the icy weather. His handlers say that he was as well mannered as
ever and they were so proud of him!

Week 3
Domino has a new favorite game...he absolutely loves to play fetch. He
brings his soft, squeaky toys back every time they're thrown so that the
game can last as long as humanly possible! We say humanly possible
because if it was up to Domino, he would play fetch until the cows come
home! He's doing very well with his obedience homework and this week
received gold stars for his "sit," "stay" and "roll over." Domino
couldn't get enough of the snow this week. He ran around, pushed his
nose right down into it, ate the icy topcoat, barked at it and had an all
around fabulous time playing his little heart out! This week his
handlers noticed that Domino loves to sit by the window and watch the people
go by. What a sweet boy!

Week 2
Domino definitely gets the star of the week award! He has learned so
much in the short time that he has been with the prison program and we are
all really proud of him. He is a happy, laid back fellow who is always
nearby for a pat on the head or a scratch behind the ears. His
handlers absolutely adore him and can't say enough nice things about him.
He is a quick learner and very eager to please. He loves to romp
around in the yard with the other dogs, but settles right down when they
come inside. Domino also understand the value of a quality nap!
His handlers say that any time they're just lounging about with nothing in
particular to do, Domino will just settle in for a nap and enjoy the down
time. What a boy!

Week 1
Domino has been an absolute doll. He loves to play, loves to hang out
with his people friends, loves to learn new things...actually, you would be
hard pressed to find anything that Domino doesn't love. He's easy
going and happy and has become a favorite among the officers and inmates
alike. He has such a sweetness to his personality and you can't miss
it any time you're in the same room with this boy. He's already
catching on very quickly to his basic commands and his handlers are thrilled
with his progress so far. Someone will be very lucky to call this
sweet kid a part of the family!

UPDATE
Domino gets started tomorrow , January 26th and we're so excited to get to
know him. He has spent such a long time in the
shelter and the staff and volunteers there were just thrilled to see him get
a fresh start. He is such a happy boy and they just want to give him
every opportunity to find his way to a life that's full of happiness!!
