UPDATE
Diesel has finally found the home of his dreams. With two
sweet boys to care for and play with, he's sure to have the time of his
life. Good luck, Diesel!!
UPDATE - Notes from Diesel's Foster Home
Diesel was granted parole this week despite not having a forever home of his
very own yet. He has come so far and learned so much in his time at
the prison, he is definitely ready to move on. Since he has been
in his foster home, we have fallen in love with this boy all over again.
He is sweet and playful, yet still a little bit unsure of himself.
After all, he's still a baby at just 1 1/2 years old. He made friends
quickly with the three other dogs in our house and is very respectful of
their space, boundaries and "rules." He loves to snuggle up with us on
the couch or lay at our feet if we're working. He is soooooo gentle
and his nature is just as sweet as they come. He provides endless
entertainment when he's rolling around the floor playing with his toys.
He is a fabulous dog and anyone would be luck to call him a part of their
family!!

Week 9
Diesel is the dog that everyone says they would take home in a
heartbeat...but, he's still waiting for a home. He's a fabulous dog
who would be able to adapt to just about any home with any person. We
think he'd really like to have another dog for company, especially if his
new people work during the day. But, other than that, he's a "go with
the flow" kind of guy. He could easily be taught how to use an
invisible fence or learn to respect boundaries. He loves to be with
all sorts of people and he's just as smart as they come. They don't
come any sweeter than this guy and now we just need someone that sees the
lifetime potential of this awesome dog. Maybe you know someone...

Week 8
Diesel keeps waiting patiently for someone to come along and discover what
an amazing dog he is. He practices his obedience commands, works on
his tricks, plays with his doggie friends and waits and waits and waits...
He is such a sweet boy and loyal to the very end. Diesel wants nothing
more than to make someone happy...every single day!! That someone
could be you. You could have the opportunity to walk this gorgeous boy
(he's great on the leash), play with him (he loves his toys) and snuggle
with him at the end of every day (he always wants to be with his people).

Week 7
Diesel has discovered a new game to play with his buddy Phoenix. They
already love to play chase, but now Diesel has added a little twist.
When Phoenix takes off to chase some birds, Diesel stays right with him and
then all of sudden jumps in front and cuts off Phoenix at the pass.
Phoenix stops dead in his tracks and then moves on to the next bird, and
Diesel waits patiently for the game to start all over again! What a
silly bunch!

Week 6
Diesel loves his doggie friends. He is always the first one out to the
dog yard and the last one to want to leave. He and his friends play
chase, tug-o-war, chase, frisbee, chase, rest, chase, roll in the grass and
just for kicks, one more round of chase! Diesel is just a big love who
gets along with everyone. He was so happy to meet Annie today when she
arrived to start her first day in the program. He even invited her to
join him in a very welcoming round of...chase! We all adore Diesel and
hope he finds his forever home very soon!

Week 5
Diesel has found a new favorite toy. He loves the fippy floppy frisbee!!
He and the other dogs, and the handlers too, will play with it until they
completely tire out. Diesel is such a social dog. He really
enjoys the company of others whether it be dogs or people. He loves to
be petted, loves to play and loves to be told that he's a good boy.
He's just an all around wonderful dog who had a rough start to life and is
now 100% ready to settle down with a family all his own.

Week 4
Are you looking for a buddy that you can really talk to? Well, Diesel
may just be your perfect match. Believe it or not, Diesel loves to
talk. He talks to his toys, while he walks, while he rides in the car
and even when he plays with the other dogs. Sometimes it's just a
quiet sound and sometimes it's a full blown woof! Diesel would love to
have another dog or two for company in his new home. He gets a bit
lonely by himself, but calms right down when he can hang out with his other
doggie friends. He is doing extremely well with his leash walking and
continues to stay at the head of the training class. He has a
wonderfully sweet nature and although a bit unsure of himself at first, will
warm up to just about anyone...two legs or four. Does he sound like a

Week 3
Diesel loves to play with his doggie friends. He starts at one end of
the play yard, puts his head down low and slowly starts to stalk the other
dogs. Then, he runs as fast as he can right over to one, stops when he
gets there, whacks his friend with his tail and then the two of them are off
to the races. Usually, Diesel wins the race, except when he's racing
Phoenix. After playtime, Diesel loves to have his belly rubbed.
He is such a well mannered dog. He will make a wonderful friend to a
very lucky person. Is that you?

Week 2
Diesel still doesn't like his crate, but we've learned that it's just
because he's lonely. This week, we let him stay with Reggie while his
handler was at work and having another dog with him really put him at ease.
We would love for Diesel to go to a home with another dog so that he can be
comfortable and feel safe and secure. Other than that, this might just
be one of our easiest dogs yet. He is a master at his obedience
classes and sets a wonderful example for the other dogs. His handlers
have started teaching him more advanced skills since he has done so well
with the basic commands. Way to go, Diesel!!

Week 1
Diesel has had a fun start to his training at the prison. He made
friends quickly and especially likes Reggie. He's not thrilled about
being left along while his handlers are at work, but we're all sure he'll
settle in once he gets used to the routine. Everyone tells him how
handsome he is whenever he's out for walks and that is sure to help him feel
more comfortable too!

UPDATE
Diesel's first few days have been filled with playtime, playtime and more
playtime. His handlers are having a ball getting to know him and he is
happily gobbling up all of the attention.
He's an adorable hound mix who is about one and a half years old.
