ADOPTED!!!
Week 10
Bella left the nest this week. After six wretched years in a puppy
mill, two happy years in a foster home and 2 1/2 fun-filled months at the
jail she is finally headed home. There were no tears shed for this
little girl as none of us could think of a better beginning for this love of
a dog. She has been a source of kindness and comfort for every other
dog who's had the good fortune to know her and she has brought innumerable
smiles the people who have been lucky enough to know her. She
"paroled" this weekend to into her new home where she will, no doubt, have
the life she has always deserved. Best wishes, Bella!!
Week 9
Bella had another fun week complete with a visit with potential adopters.
After the visit, she went back to the prison, helped Charlie settle in and
then said a few beagle prayers before settling in for a nap. As it
turns out, they fell just as in love with Bella as all of us have and Bella
is now officially adopted! This sweet girl has lived a life that was
full of daily horrors in a puppy mill. But, she never let it get her
down and has always showed love, compassion and kindness to both the people
and dogs who've surrounded her over the last six months. Her hopeful
outlook has been has been positively infectious to everyone around her and
it's no surprise that she'll be deeply missed. All the best to you
Bella. You deserve every ounce of it!!
Week 8
Bella has rediscovered her love of squeaky toys this week. She loves
any toy that makes noise and will play and play and play some more until she
completely wears herself out. She is such a love and everyone at the
prison is pulling for her to find a home of her own soon. No one can
quite believe that such a sweet, loving, well mannered girl is still waiting
but we know the right mach is out there for her. In the meantime,
she's having a ball! She and Elroy love to play and she has a buddy in
Cole as well. She can't quite figure out Steven and the birds, but she
likes him all the same. She made friends quickly with Kizzie and was
ready and waiting to help Charlie adjust to his new surroundings as well.
We love you, Bella!!!
Week 7
Bella had another great week of playtime with her friends, training with her
handler and socializing with the staff. She is a favorite among
visitors to the block because of her welcoming personality and ever wagging
tail! She tried her paw again this week at agility. She really
likes the tunnel, but her tummy gets in the way sometimes when she tries the
jumps. But, she always willing to give new things a try and we just
love her for that.
Week
6
This is Bella...all the time...every day. She has so much love to give
and she doesn't hesitate a bit to get started with every person she meets.
She spent the afternoon at Borders last week spreading her Bella-joy to all
of the shoppers. Two kids stopped to spend some time with her and she
just couldn't keep from giving them hugs. She spent a good deal of
time on their laps which is one of her favorite pastimes. There were
lots of sweet Bella kisses and of course, more hugs! You just couldn't
ask for a nicer, sweeter, more loveable companion than Bella. She's
been so patient as the other dogs in her class have found homes and moved
on. She knows that her someone special is just around the corner and
she never loses her cheerful disposition. Someone will be very lucky
to call this darling girl a part of their family. There is something
wonderfully special about her and we know there's someone out there who will
see just what we see and scoop her into their arms for a life full of hugs
and love.

Week 5
Bella is our new, official greeter of new dogs. Since she has been
at the prison she has made a concerted effort to welcome each new dog,
show him the ropes and help him feel at home in the new environment.
You couldn't ask for a sweeter, more gentle, kinder soul than Bella and
someone will be very lucky to call her a part of their family. She
is excellent with everyone she meets, adores attention from people and
has excellent manners. She and Elroy have become fast friends and
she loves her old pals Hanson and Cole. She was Steven's first
playmate when he arrived this week and even India can't resist this
little girl's charms. She is pure joy and we absolutely adore
her!! |
Week 4
Having Bella in a room with you is like having sunshine in a room with you!
Everywhere she goes, people instantly start to smile and can't help but perk
up a bit! She visited Borders last Saturday and met so many people
that she completely exhausted herself. Then, during the week she was
busy helping Cole adjust to his new handlers and training regimen.
Plus, she had to schedule in some playtime with her friends Hanson and
Elroy. She's like a little Beagle Butterfly who flutters around to
each person and dog who needs a little extra TLC. She's doing very
well with her training. She still tugs on the leash when there's
something exiting up ahead, but we'll keep working on it. She had her
nails trimmed this week and, of course, was an absolute doll. Bella is
just fabulous! It's hard to believe that she spent her entire life in
the wretched conditions of a puppy mill. There's no sign of it now and
it sure seems like she left it behind and never looked back. She's one
in a million and deserves a home where she'll be loved for the gem that she
is. We're all head over heels for her...how about you??
Week 3
There is so much to love about Miss Bella. She is so friendly with
everyone she meets, loves to play with the other dogs, never holds a grudge
and is eager to please. She and Hanson hit it off well from day one
and they truly enjoy their play dates together. Bella's doing great on
her new diet and exercise regimen. She can now comfortably walk and
trot 10-15 laps around the dog yard and still enjoy romping time! This
week, she's testing out the agility equipment and we all think that she'll
have a blast. She loves to experiment with new things and this might
be right up her alley! Way to go, Bella!
Week 2
Bella is wiggling her way into the hearts of everyone here. She
ventured out on two field trips last weekend and she was the "bella" of the
ball! She visited with all sorts of people at the Perry County Victim
Witness Program Street Fair and then headed out the next day to CPAA's
annual Compassion with Fashion where she was the official greeter for the
afternoon. She was a star!! She was so tired after leaving the
fashion show that she fell asleep almost instantly on the front seat of the
car and didn't budge until we reached the prison. She's working hard
on her training although she and her handler are still trying to figure out
who's in charge. She can have a bit of a stubborn streak when she
feels she's had enough, but it never lasts long. She's a big hit with
all of the other dogs and she's been so welcoming to the new kids who have
just gotten started. Way to go, Bella!
Week 1
Bella had an incredible first week in the big house. She has wiggled
her way into the hearts of everyone she has met so far and we're fairly
certain she'll have the entire prison wrapped around her paw before she
leaves. She is so sweet and friendly. She loves the other dogs,
adores people and just can't find enough time in the day for all of the
socializing she'd like to do. She's already lost a few pounds on her
diet that began in her foster home and is continuing at the prison.
She's quite a little heartbreaker!!
Update
Bella is next in line to get started in the program. She's all set and
ready to begin on Thursday, April 10th! She is a sweet,
friendly, love of a dog and at just eight years old has plenty of wonderful
years left to devote to wonderful family that deserves such a fabulous dog!
Bella is available through

Tail to Tell.
